Born in Pune Pandurang has completed his Government Diploma in Fine Arts from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya and further pursued his Master's degree from the Department of Fine Art, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar University, Aurangabad in 2014. Apart from being a professional painter,
Pandurang for the past 30 years has been in the profession of teaching at the Department of Fine Art at Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya, Pune. He has been a very successful creative artist working in the field of contemporary Indian Art for the last 35 years.
His solo exhibitions include those held at the Jehangir Art Gallery 1991, 1997, 2001, 2004, 2009 & 2015, Gallery Jamat 2008, Hacienda Gallery 2008, Art2Day Gallery, Pune 2012, and several other exhibitions at Balgandharva, Pune and Heritage Gallery, New Delhi.
He has been consistently participating in various other exhibitions both in India and internationally, including the Bombay Art Society’s Annual Exhibition to commemorate the society’s Centenary year 1991; 7 for 7 Hong Kong Gallery, 1995; ‘Stage Show’ organized during the Pune Festival 1993 and was part of a group event of painting 6’ x 36’ Canvas with M F Husain; Affordable Art Shows, Lagos, New York, London, Singapore & Mumbai; 11th Harmony Art Show, Reliance Group, Mumbai 2005; 10th Anniversary Show, Tao Art Gallery, Mumbai 2010; participated in Travel Group Exhibition at Pune, Vadodara & Shantiniketan.
Pandurang has participated eight times in Lalit Kala Akademi’s National Exhibition of Art, New Delhi; Bharat Bhavan’s Biennale in 1990, 1992; Pune Biennale 2013, 2015, 2017; Mumbai Biennale organized by Sir J J School of Art 2018; PEN International Art Exhibition, Pune 2018; Tathe is been awarded State Art Award, Government of Maharashtra 1982, 1988; AIFACS Award, New Delhi and other 12 renowned awards. His works were included at the curated show ‘Rethinking the Regional’ at the National Art Gallery of Modern Art, Mumbai in 2015. Pandurang lives & works in Pune.
